PRESIDENT & CEO, HARLO FINANCIAL
Jonathan Tkatch is the President & CEO of Harlo Financial. Jonathan is a licensed lawyer and practised law for eight years prior to founding Harlo Financial. He began his legal career at Cassels Brock & Blackwell in 2008, where his practice focused on corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, regulatory compliance, corporate governance, continuous disclosure and Canadian public markets. At Cassel Brock, Jonathan also gained experience directly advising public company boards of directors and completing debt and equity financings in excess of $1 billion. He advised a variety of companies including REITs, utility companies, junior and senior mining companies and investment banks.
In 2013, Jonathan joined a boutique litigation practice. He has also practised real estate law and represented lenders in private mortgage transactions. Jonathan assisted in the administration, underwriting and management of a mortgage portfolio on behalf of a private lender. He obtained both his B.A. (Hons.) and J.D. from the University of Western Ontario in 2006 and 2009 respectively and is a licensed Mortgage Agent with the Financial Services Commission of Ontario.
Jonathan has also been involved in a variety charitable causes including as committee member of the One Family Fund Golf Tournament, co-chair of the young professional United Jewish Appeal tele-thons, co-chair of the Chabad Bayview Golf Tournament, committee member and host of the SickKids Hospital Dinner Series, Team Captain of the Baycrest Pro-Am Hockey Tournament as well as volunteering and fundraising for these causes and a variety of other causes. He is currently serving on the board of directors of Oakdale Golf & Country Club as well as a member of the Club’s corporate governance committee.

Jeffrey Kimel is the President of Harlo Capital, a real estate private equity platform focused on investing in development and value add opportunities. Prior to Harlo Capital, Jeffrey spent five years working as the Director of Acquisition and Development with his family business, Westdale Properties. At Westdale, Jeffrey was responsible for $103.5M of new equity investments with eight new partnership groups. He originated, identified, negotiated and coordinated $58M of street front retail investments and the disposition of two assets leading to $11.7M of profit in less than two years. Jeffrey was responsible for managing $74.4M of condo development sites in Toronto, leading to two successfully zoned, marketed and sold projects (Nobu & Theory Condos). As well, Jeffrey led the due diligence and key review of the acquisition of Northgate Mall ($62M acquisition). He also led and managed negotiations with a new Joint Venture partner leading to nine developments in Waterloo and two developments in Kingston consisting of $228M of development (including $21.1M of equity invested).
Before joining Westdale, Jeffrey spent three years working for a private real estate group as an Asset Manager, responsible for managing over one million square feet of commercial real estate. Jeffrey started his real estate career as a summer student at RioCan REIT.
Jeffrey sits on the Credit Committee of CMCC Capital Fund, is a member of the Management Committee of the Pittsburgh Penguins’ Hockey Club and a director of the Chase Hospitality Group. He is on the board of directors of CAMH Hospital Foundation, the co-chair of the Barrie to Baycrest Hospital annual bike ride and a member of the SickKids Campaign Cabinet.
CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
Andrew is the Chief Financial Officer of Harlo Capital and Harlo Financial. Andrew has more than eighteen years of professional experience managing real estate investments and financial assets on behalf of private and institutional investors. Prior to joining Harlo, Andrew served for more than seven years as the Chief Financial Officer of Freed Developments Ltd., where he was directly responsible for leading Freed’s financial reporting and management team while providing strategic guidance and coordination for the development, sales and construction divisions. Before joining Freed, Andrew was an Investment Consultant and Asset Manager to multi-employer pension and health and welfare trust fund clients from 1998 to 2010. In this role, Andrew was responsible for the asset management of more than $500M in real estate assets in Canada and the Caribbean. He was also responsible for creating and presenting investment reports, economic updates, investment policy statements and governance policies for trust funds representing more than $2 billion in total assets. Andrew began his professional career as a Public Accountant with De Visser & Company Chartered Accountants in British Columbia from 1994 to 1997.
Andrew is a Member of the Toronto CFA Institute and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation. He is also a CPA, CGA member of the Chartered Public Accountants Association of Ontario. Andrew earned a BA in History from the University of British Columbia and a Diploma of Technology in Financial Management from the British Columbia Institute of Technology.

Adam Paulin is the President of Green Storage, a Self-Storage Development, Operating, Construction and Management Company. Adam also runs the Hour Group of Companies, which has investments in multiple classes of real estate. Prior to co-founding Green Storage and the Hour Group of Companies, Adam was the COO of Northern International, a CPG company. Adam helped grow the business from $30M in sales to over $150M in sales and ensured overseas manufacturing was completed in a productive and timely manner.
Adam graduated the Richard Ivey School of Business and studied International business at the University of Hong Kong. While working at Northern International, Adam completed his MBA at the Schulich School of Business focusing on Real Estate and Operations.
